Kalgoorlie - Day 2

The whole mining town thing totally fascinates and intrigues me.   There is definitely a lot of families here with very small children who are obviously chasing the money but I am not sure that I could live here.  There is certainly a lot of idiots in these areas too and the caravan parks are always full to the brim!
Today we walked through town and had a look around.  The boys had a photo with a statue of Paddy Hannan, who was the person who discovered the gold here.  We also had a look at the Questa Casa, one of the oldest brothels in the world.  We didn’t go inside and much to Jason’s disappointment we didn’t do the tour!  And might I add, it looks like a fine establishment indeed - NOT! (see photo below)

We then went to Hammond Park, the boys had a play in the playground and we had a picnic lunch.  This place was packed and I swear that every kid in Kalgoorlie had a birthday party here today.  A really nice park to relax and let the kids play.  There was even a miniature castle and the park even had emus and heaps of birds and ducks.
Back to camp for a relaxing afternoon before we start our trip tomorrow across the Nullarbor tomorrow.  It's going to be a long couple of days....
