The drive from Port Arthur to Hobart of about 100klm wasn't very scenic. I say
that because it has been simply stunning so far and it can only be so good for
so long.
We stopped at a place called Dunalley 40k out as we saw a fresh crayfish sign.
The lady didn't have any but told me of a place called Red Dragon Seafood on
the way into town and they would hook me up.
This was all that concerned me right now....
We spotted the small signs coming past the airport and made a quick stop. 6
tanks full of male crays caught a couple of days ago. The females are bigger
which is hard to believe but the professional season doesn't start until
November, so males it is.
They let me bring the boys in to see the tanks and one big bopper king crab. It
scared the poop out of Zander but Mav just took it in his stride as he
does. I spoke to the guy and lady for a while as they were interested in where
we had been and what we had done, and then they kindly knocked a few dollars
off the price of the cray & the scallops that I bought.
Tonight was going to be a 5 star feast for me, because the family don't eat
seafood....the boys not yet anyway, they just think if Mum doesn't it mustn't
be all that good.
The caravan park is another cracker. $40 a night, powered for the whole family,
we have our own ensuite with a bath and a coax outlet to plug the telly in. In
4.5 months we have used it maybe 5 times. We have become accustom to not needing
the things we think we need so much at home, but for the next 3 nights we have
TV & it is finals footy time.
TV, Tazzie cray & scallops & a few beers....sounds upsetting doesn't
it......
Still loving Tazzie, Jase
